Our story

Built with these two hands…

The fact that owner Sam Murray hasn’t had to advertise his 80 acres of vineyard and reception centre, is testament to this eclectic venue’s reputation.

It’s one thing to be a “bespoke” venue these days but what separates Oneday Estate from the rest, is its authenticity and charm that inhabits visitors and wedding parties alike. One step into the main structure of Oneday and you are welcomed with big smiles whilst your eyes are madly trying to take in the menagerie of recycled brickwork, iron and timbers that Sam has lovingly used to construct Oneday from scratch.

Sam’s devotion to local history has seen him salvage and incorporate pieces such as pillars from the old Barwon Heads Bridge, big timbers from the Queenscliff Marina and remnants from the old Ocean Grove Catholic Church.

It’s truly a remarkable achievement by Sam, a former chippie and footballer, whose passion for recycling and designing led him to set up this unique venue where he could also use his viticulture skills to produce small batch wine, gin and craft beer.

Sunday afternoons are legendary and provide an opportunity to kickback, have a feed, listen to live music or just go for a wander around the estate with a glass of the local drop where you’re likely to bump into Sam’s wonder dog, Cider.

To experience Oneday is something you won’t forget. There is nothing “manufactured” here, whether that be the buildings, interiors, food, drinks or experience. It all comes from the heart and a real purpose: to have visitors leave with a smile on their faces.

Oneday Estate came about through a dream of Oneday owning a winery and more so Oneday actually being finished.

In building Oneday was a long drawn out process of collecting the grand old timbers, doors, bricks and beams from around out Peninsula and beyond. Saving a lot of our history that would have gone to waste. Its all come together. Every brick, beam and bolt, truss and roof sheet has a rich history.

Truly one of a kind

Combining my building skills and love of history, along with my glass making skills and love of wine, I hope to see you soon to join us to enjoy the incredibly unique space that Oneday Estate is.

Come and feel the history, taking on the future.

Our wines

Estate-grown grapes and handcrafted cool climate wines

The Oneday Estate’s first vines were planted in 2001. The vineyard covers 14 acres, split between Pinot Noir (50%), Shiraz (25%) and Riesling (25%). The first harvest at the vineyard was in 2005 and we are still holding a few bottles of that first vintage in our cellar.

The region’s maritime cool climate enables optimum conditions for these varietals. Our grapes are always handpicked, and our wines are handcrafted by internationally renowned and highly awarded winemaker Nyall Condon and his knowledgeable team.

We hope you will enjoy drinking our wines as much as we enjoy crafting them.
